SONIA AVILÉS CORCUY
Renowned Bolivian fashion designer.
She received her training in fashion at the Burgo Institute in Milan, Italy, and the University of Chile.
For many years she has worked in favor of Bolivian women, creating social projects financed by European entities. Her achievements are very important, since she has helped improve the lives of many women and dedicated many years of her life to valuing the feminine knowledge of the indigenous cultures of Bolivia, supporting them to be self-sustaining by creating fashion.
For several years she has been working on her own company that bears her name: "Sonia Avilés Bolivian fashion"
In Bolivian fashion she has contributed to the rescue of ancestral techniques that were adapted to ethnic fashion and haute couture, creating more than 46 collections throughout her career, many of them presented on international catwalks in several countries.
She has received several awards for her work in favor of women in a state of social disadvantage and fashion at a national and international level.
